NJ Crumb Cake

Growing up spending summers along the Jersey shore, Heather developed a deep love for crumb cake, which holds a special place in her heart.  Now, we have the privilege of recreating that beloved crumb cake for others to enjoy here in the Netherlands.  The secret lies in the balance—the moist and tender cake base providing a perfect canvas for the generous layer of buttery, crunchy, crumbs that crown it.  The cake base is made with butter, sugar, flour, yolks and sour cream which gives it a tender and moist cake base only to be topped with a generous layer of our buttery crumb layer made with butter, flour, sugar, and a touch of cinnamon.  Just because it’s summer, we add a fruit inclusion of your choice; rhubarb, raspberries, or peach.  The  fruit adds brightness, tanginess, and a touch of natural sweetness to your crumb cake, elevating its taste and texture.  Making this delicious treat is about carrying on a legacy, celebrating the flavors that defined our summers on the Jersey shore and spreading a sense of joy and nostalgia.
